Capitalism:what would happen if a NEW pharmaceutical company started curing disease?
the problem with capitalism is businesses are more concerned with making money off of problems than solving them.
which lead me to believe in some industries solutions to problems are surpressed like how few people know boric acid solved the roach problem decades ago but raid would go out of business if everyone used it.

The details of your question describe what happens when corporations and government start working in unison. Government buys the product of a corporation, and the politician gets stock in said corporation. That is not free market capitalism.
If a new pharmaceutical company started curing disease one of two things would happen:
1) The FDA would shut them down.
2) The company would start to give campaign donations and other perks to politicians.
