Someone commented my Youtube vid saying this. Tell me your response to him/her.
“The government has no business defining marriage because marriage was originally proposed by religious institutions. Therefore, the institution of marriage should no longer involve or be recognized by the government because the government should only concern secular ideas. At first, religion defined marriage I think. But now, there’s so much more things involved in having a spouse like life insurance, visiting your partner in the hospital, acting as next of kin, adoption, etc etc that I think there should be some kind of regulation. Because all we want is equal rights, and if LGBT’s can’t obtain those previously mentioned “martial advantages” just because of our orientation, then we’re just living as second class citizens. Yeah yeah yeah, marriage is “supposed” to be a holy union between man and woman under God blah blah blah, but love is blind.
